How Do You Solve A Problem Like Corruption?

With an Alliance for Ethics Reform, focused on getting what so many people want heard.

We are proud to be in this diverse coalition representing the full range of political viewpoints and potentially nearly all Georgians. The reforms that Alliance members agree upon include several large reforms to end the culture of corruption in our government, such as limiting the amount of gifts lobbyists can give legislators, limiting contributions to PAC’s and political parties, and limiting transfers between elected officials and PAC’s. As is, these financial transfers and practices consolidate power in certain officials and interests at great expense to the people.

Please join the people’s Cause.

  1. When it was announced I thought the Alliance for Ethics Reform was a strange combination. I can understand there being agreement on some broad goals. I wonder if there is agreement on the strategies being employed given that the State Organizer of the Tea Party Patriots has now threatened to “Tea Party” Speaker Ralston if he doesn’t allow their version of ethic legislation to pass. Makes one wonder when Common Cause joins forces with the bomb throwers.

Let’s assume and pray that no actual bombs will be thrown. The question then becomes what is the appropriate tactic to ensure that elected officials are properly representing the desire of their constituents, which in this case is the passage of ethics legislation. The peacfeul gathering and expresion of constituent opinions, ultimately realized in a voting booth, is engaging Georgians in their democratic/representative government.
